For my last day in China, Kat took me as close as she could get me to what you hoped I could see, Sam F.:
The Great Wall of China
First, Bashira and other friends at Kat’s said goodbye.

The Great Wall is as far from Xiamen as Florida is from Riceville. She asked, but no one was going there. The different parts of the Great Wall stretch for thousands of miles, but all very far away. It is a huge symbol for all of China, and just minutes from Cat Street is a museum about Overseas Chinese.
It is about Chinese long ago who traveled around the world, moving to other countries, like us Duckies are doing now! And they have a Great Wall.
Models of boats Zheng He and his fleet used to sail the world I’m glad I’m traveling now, and not when these people did. Their travel wasn’t comfortable. This guy sure is carrying a lot Routes they used by sea. I went over the Pacific too, but by plane A US dollar! It is in a hongbao (red envelop) for Chinese New Year. When Chinese live somewhere else, they’ll give the local money, which is what this is showing The museum also has some taxidermied animals. These are pangolin – a really interesting mammal with scales! They are endangered now The outside of the museum
First I hiked a curvy section Then I hiked a straighter, but steep, bit Kat says ‘Thanks for visiting!’ And, since she could only get me to this mural of the Great Wall, Sam F., you’ll have to get me to the real one yourself someday!
